Carthage and Dougga Tour Details

Carthage was Rome's great rival, and Dougga is the best-preserved Roman town in North Africa. Seeing both in a day shows you the whole arc of that story.

At Carthage you walk the Antonine Baths and the Punic quarter on the hill above the gulf. Inland, Dougga sits on a ridge of olive groves with its capitol, theatre and temples still standing to their full height — a small Roman city you can cross on foot, remarkably intact and rarely crowded.

The drive between them runs through the farmland of the Medjerda valley, the grain country that once fed Rome.
